Entrepreneur and Venture Advice Clinic Outreach on Kangaroo Island – Bushfire Recovery and Business Beyond
On 6-7 September 2021, we were invited to Kangaroo Island by the Bushfire Community Legal Project and the Department of Innovation and Skills, as student advisors of the Entrepreneur and Venture Advice Clinic (EVAC). In response to the 2020 bushfires which were particularly devastating on Kangaroo Island, Community Legal Centres SA (CLCSA) established the Bushfire Community Legal Project to provide legal support and outreach to the affected communities.
On 6 -7 September 2021, student advisers of the Entrepreneur and Venture Advice Clinic (EVAC) were invited to Kangaroo Island by the Bushfire Community Legal Project and the Department of Innovation and Skills to present to the local community on the key aspects of law that should be considered when starting-up and running a business.
On Friday 28 May, the IHL Grand Final Moot took place with Ms Olivia Bradley and Ms Jana Humzy appearing for the Prosecution and Ms Natasha Slater and Ms Kimberly Jones appearing for the Defence.
Law students present a 'Know your employment rights' workshop to young people at Adelaide City Library
The Adelaide Law School is proud of the Adelaide Clinical Legal Education students who presented a 'know your employment rights' workshop to young people at Adelaide City Library today, in collaboration with headspace.
Late last week, the successful Adelaide Law School 2021 Jessup Moot Team participated in a very well attended exhibition moot in the Law School Moot Court, appearing before Mr Justice Sam Doyle (Court of Appeal of the SA Supreme Court) and Professor Dale Stephens (Adelaide Law School).

The University of Adelaide Law School runs five free legal advice clinics as part of the Clinical Legal Education (CLE) subject.
Heading into the Summer break, where I often spend time unproductively, I was excited to be accepted as an Intern at the Adelaide Magistrates Court as part of the Law and Justice Internship program at the Adelaide Law School.
I was able to observe the protocols and processes of a Commonwealth Tribunal and engage in meaningful research tasks, primarily relating to the Migration, Social Security, Veterans’ Affairs and Taxation areas of Public Law.
